Blackberry Storm has no WiFi?!!?!! Wow. Epic fail. Suck it Verizon!
Hmm… I wonder if Vodafone’s version is equally lame.
I never thought I’d take anything from Scrubs to heart. And then I watched this old episode yesterday night:
Keep fighting, keep working to get what’s worth having.
The right blend of comedy and drama. This is why I’ve liked Scrubs.
So there I sat in my living room, with a few of my friends, our eyes glued to CNN. When Barack Obama won Ohio, I knew that he would be the winner. The closure of polls in the West Coast officially handed him a victory. And yet the emotions and depth of this historic and monumentous moment I only felt when Obama started speaking. The president-elect is a powerful orator, no doubt, but tonight amidst the mild wind and large crowds gathering in a New Year’s Eve-esque spirit, his words echoed deep into my heart, and into the hearts of many others. I could not help but smile widely. Tears welled in my eyes as powerful statements were spoken, calling upon one nation, one people, to rise up to face our challenges, to overcome through hard work, sacrifice, service and helping others. Messages of hope triumphed over fear. I believe that this is the true start to the 21st century. I am hopeful that the American people will mend their divisions, and work for a more perfect union, and for a better world. The night is darkest before the dawn, but dawn has finally come. And a new day is arising in America.
Excerpts from President-Elect Obama’s speech:
We are and always will be the United States of America.
A government by the People, for the People, has not perished from this Earth…
Young people…rejected the myth of their generation’s apathy…
This victory alone is not the change we seek, it is only the chance for us to make that change, and that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were… It can’t happen without a new spirit of service, a spirit of sacrifice. So let us summon a new spirit, of patriotism, of responsibility, where each of us resolves to pitch in, and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other.
In this country we rise and fall as one nation, as one people.
As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, We are not enemies, but friends. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection.
[To the world:] Our stories are singular but our destinies are shared.
A new dawn of American leadership is at hand.
To all those who have wondered if America’s beacon still burns as bright, tonight we prove once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope. That’s the true genius of America; that America can change. Our union can be perfected, what we’ve already achieved gives us hope for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.
To reclaim the American dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth that out of many we are one, that while we breathe we hope, and where we are met with cynicism and doubt and those who tell us that we can’t we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people,
“YES WE CAN“.
Why are we tasked with ‘restoring’ the American Dream when we were promised that it would be our inherited birthright?
The American people are supposed to trust that our votes are fairly counted.
These scare tactics are despicable.
Absolutely despicable. The very fact that a campaign needs to have a video like this is disheartening.
OK, so it’s actually a free cup of coffee…
IF YOU VOTE.
My fellow Americans, please vote tomorrow.
