RANDOM THOUGHTS

Filed under: Procrastination, Randomness — sngk @

Now in Bullet format!

  • I want a bap.  Actually, I just like saying “bap”.
  • I can no longer function efficiently without at least one cup of coffee each day.
  • Pandora really likes Dave Matthews today it seems (or everyday for that matter).
  • I need to start taking pictures again.
  • I need to clean my room.
  • I need to pack this weekend.
  • I STILL need to do laundry. Damn. Let me start doing that now.

OK! Carpe diem! (Well, what’s left of it.)

THE VOICE OF THE LONDON UNDERGROUND

Filed under: London, Randomness, Travel — sngk @

I recently (aka a few minutes ago) stumbled upon some funny sound clips from the woman who is the voice of the London Underground.  They’re pretty hilarious!   My favorites are  “A reminder for American tourists”  and “A reminder for the residents of London”.  Bloody good!

Here’s the link to the spoof announcements.

PRE-UPDATE UPDATE

Filed under: Food, Randomness, Updates — sngk @

Ok, so I don’t know if the title actually makes sense or not, but suffice to say I haven’t had much time to blog for the past few months.  I have many things I wanted to post, and I promise they’re going to come soon.

Anyway, I was craving this last night and I thought I’d share it with my readers (all 6 of you).  It took some effort (and friend asking) to figure out what this treat was called in English.  I was expecting something amazing but then I got the real answer:

“White Sugar Sponge Cake”

aka

“White Sugar Cake”

aka

“White Sugar Pastry”

I was very disappointed with that answer.  So I’ll keep calling it “Khanom Khao”, just like my aunt used to tell me when I was a mere 5 year old boy. Ah, the fond childhood memories.  I don’t care if it’s an “old people” snack.

Well, here it is (though I usually purchase them in cut rectangular strips in Chinatown):

Mmm.
